I am so grateful to be the mom to 10 amazing kids! My love for all things birth began 23 years ago when I was pregnant with my 1st son. I was fascinated with the physiology of birth and read everything I could get my hands on during my pregnancy. I was so prepared for labor and delivery but no one explained to me how everything would change the minute they laid him in my arms. I was a mother! I was overcome with a love I had never experienced before. My one regret of that day was I don’t have very many photos to look back on.
I went on to birth 7 more babies in 3 different countries. I have had home-births, hospital-births and water-births. My passion for birth grew with each pregnancy. I truly believe that all of my experience surrounding birth has prepared me for being a birth photographer, and also a Student Midwife at Midwives College of Utah.
As a lover of all things birth related I was so excited to get to tell my birth stories on one of my favorite podcasts: The Birth Hour. https://thebirthhour.com/eight-unmedicated-birth-stories/
In 2017 I also had the privilege of staying at The Farm in Tennessee with my husband and my friend Natalie, photographer of @BirthUndisturbed https://www.birthundisturbed.com/the-series We stayed on the Farm, filmed Natalie interviewing all of the Farm midwives and basically breastfed and talked birth for 5 days straight. It was a dream come true for both of us!
Here is the Film of the Birth of my last baby, Atticus. I was so thankful to have a family friend come over and film my labor and delivery.
